    On summer saturdays they would use a West Coast set of stock for the additional services or those prone to over crowding – the odd newquay service etc.
    Simply remove the Class 87/90 electric and work the train from either end with a 47

    At least we still have the Yarmouth ‘Drags’ which some of these 47 have performed these summer saturday duties in recent years!

    That brings back some familier memories. FGW 47813 ‘SS Great Britain’ was the last type 4 I saw in normal passenger service. Cheers.

    Yes we now only get 47s here working ECS moves to Plymouth Laira or the SECO stuff now and then.
    DRS may get round to sending one vice a 66 but its not likely as i dont think the DRS men this south sign for 47s anymore!

    i miss the class 47s they were the best but now is all the same hst’s voyagersand little trains down here =[ brink some new trains don that wld be better! nice video to 5 starts =]

    i actualy was on a 47 with mark 2 carriages going to penzance :> i thought it wouldnt be very good at first but i loved it ( at the time i wanted to go on a hst) at the time i was 11 and always wanted a hst
