@alanccoop Hi Alan,
Nope, I left Cape Town in August, 2002, to come to Saint Louis, Missouri, in the great U.S.of A. I still hanker back to Namibia, more so than I do to Cape Town, strangely enough.
I will do a google search for your photies and leave some comments if they will let me. Cheers to you too.

@Afrikitty You don’t have to be a member of webshots to see my photos. Of course you can just do a google on coopec100 and you will get to my albums. Where do you live these days? Still Cape Town? Cheers

@alanccoop I used to be a member of Webshots. Many of the pictures I used on my older videos were from Webshots. But they started to fix things that weren’t broken and they lost quite a few members as a result. I was one of them. I could go back and have a look at your photos.

Oh lawdie, this brings back memories. Our family lived on the other side of that block of flats in Storch Strasse, Windhoek West. We lived in that house for 10 years. We used to watch the South African Defense Force praticing their moves on those flats.
Your video description, especially of the taxis, was hilarious and quite accurate…LOL I grew to love this place with a passion, but did not fully realise how much, until our family moved back to Cape Town, South Africa in December, 1997.

Yes I agree with you. The thing that surprised me was that I was familiar to (say) 65% of the products on the supermarket shelves ie the same brand names – cerials, soaps, detergents, soups, soft drink, pickles, jams etc. All signage is in English, (and the same color/styl), same traffic laws, speed limits etc . All education is in English. The digital camera, mobile phone/camera and Internet has changed everything hasn’t it?

Amazing to see a city like this in Namibia when all you ever get in the media is poverty, suffering, ramshackle ruins, dirt roads and misery.
