There are Jumbo Taxis. They can take up to 9 people. They are 30% more expensive than normal taxis. You should call them up.

There are no taxis that large that can be flagged down on any road. 1 taxi can fit up to 4 people so I suggest taking 2 taxis and have 1 follow the other.

I was just in Osaka yesterday, and there were several taxi-vans waiting in front of Shin-Osaka station that could hold about 8-9 people. The fare was 30% more than a regular taxi, if I remember correctly.

You might have a hard time finding one away from the station, though. You could try getting one at the station and then getting a business card or phone number from them so you can call them to pick you up elsewhere later on. Depending on where you are, it might just be easier to decide where you’re going and then split up into two cabs (maybe cheaper, too, since if you call a cab to come out and get you, the meter will already be running when they pick you up).
