The movie is just incredible I love the point of view of the camera at the end and how it plays the theme of the movie

In my mind, this is the pinnacle of cinema. The first time I saw this film, something grabbed hold of my concious and has never let go. The acting, dialogue, story, and message of this film are second to none, but at the same time the whole thing makes me feel a little uncomfortable. Disturbing to say the very least.

@ecashinxxx Maybe it is quite an heavy thing to carry, when you’re loosing blood from your neck. Anyway, Travis is quite psychotic at this phase. Not the most rational being.

I think the comments describing Bickle as a “hero” miss the point of the film.

Sure, his rage is used for ‘good’ in this scene, but ultimately he would have been just as happy to execute the innocent election candidate earlier in the film if he hadn’t been stopped – that’s the main irony of the plot.

Ultimately I think he’s a very tragic character in that he is at heart a decent person, but his experience of war and the sleaze of mankind day in day out eventually snaps his mind.

but so gross. the only really cool part to me? how they took the camera backwards down those steps showing the dead guys and the blood from the ceilings point of view.

They should have ended the film there, instead of tacking all that “closure” shit on the end of it.

@gregapugh124 if it hadn’t been for taxi driver q tarantino would never have got the inspiration to make those films!!!taxi driver was the breakthrough film!!! nothing like it had been made before , or since!!! pulp fiction and reservoir dogs are simply gangster films, although i like them aswell. consider the time gap between the films, taxi driver was made in 76 while the other two were made in the 90’s. it was common for such violence and dialoghe in the 90’s, but taxi driver started it all.
